Defining Your Personal Style
One of the most important things you can do when trying to look good is to define your personal style.
Do you know someone who dresses preppy one day, and then bohemian the next? You generally want to avoid dressing in conflicting styles on a weekly basis. You need to define who you are through the image you portray, and the main way you do that is through your clothing.
The first thing you should do is evaluate your personality and see what styles of clothing would compliment it. This may seem superficial to some, but it is very important. If you are formal and talk in proper English, you shouldn’t be wearing the clothes of a rapper. If you are all business, a t-shirt, shorts and sandals won’t cut it. There is nothing wrong with wearing these things on certain occasions, but they shouldn’t make up the bulk of your wardrobe.
Then, you should look for specific pieces of clothing that compliment the style you are doing to develop for yourself. The more you look and shop around, the more you will see that certain designers and styles of clothing are in tune with what you are looking for. The, buying clothes that match your style is easy!
Defining your style can be a long, tedious process, but it is not something that you should out off doing. Your style will change throughout your life, but it is important to define a starting point and work from there.
